Off course you cannot compare Sicily with France; even the South coast of France is too cold compared with the hot Sicilian beaches. Arriving in Sicily the creamy and sophisticated French cuisine, is traded in for an explosion of colours, herbs, sweet smells and spices surrounding fresh fish and vegetables.

Perhaps the stronger French economy is safer for investments, but the return can be little and the initial budget bigger. In Sicily there is still a lot of room for growth and good deals to be made without needing a huge capital to begin with.
